Servers

• merlo updated to DEBIAN11

• mooneye is being moved to cloud mooneye still (will take a few weeks)

• a couple on old Linux Mint and need 2 be updated
• discussing getting new parts/getting new desktops bc they are old as fuck
  • 2 are definetly getting replaced
  • we can do these at the build and break

• Checked mail. Just a letter from Westpac saying the University branch was permanently closing.

Guild/SOC

• SOCPAC meeting this Thursday 6pm

• Guild will do first aid certs for $99/ea (discount) if we have a room for it and do an emp.

  • Unigames is planning on doing one. Do we wanna join?
  • Also, apparantly the club can't pay for it or reimburse you. Individuals have to pay for it themselves.
    • not really a requirement of running the club

• Email from Jak (President of SOC) about public liability insurance

  • TURNS OUT WE DON'T NEED IT, IT'S STILL COVERED BY THE GUILD
    • DESPITE SEVERAL EMAILS AND DIRECT QUOTES FROM HIM AT SEVERAL SOCPAC MEETINGS.
      • Apparently a new email clarifing this was sent, and somehow did not get sent to us.
      • basicallly we can get sued if something goes wrong under our influence

• Went and talked to Leigh (Guild Events)

  • We do not need public liability insurance
    • We DO need director's/executive/managers liability insurance.
    • Leigh has said that he can help us with talking to Finance and hopefully being able to broker a deal with the Guild's insurance agent.
      • This still will cost a lot, but is not as urgent and it means we can actually submit EMPs and run events!
      • [GPO] will email Leigh later about this & any other questions we have
        • he said he'd help us work with finance to get managers insurance
          • might be a bit expensive
          • we will do it when its required by guild
          • not a high priority right now as we can still run any events we want

Other Entities

Westpac

• Lilly has been added as a signatory and was already an admin

• We have ordered new cards

  • For the second time.
  • hopefully it shows up at the right place and on time

• They also couldn't help us with ETFs

  • Westpac has told us that we can probably not get a securities trading account as it's "too complicated" and that we should make a trust in the name of one of the committee members, pay out the money to that trust, and invest via that.
    • Most likely bullshit. [GPO] will follow up and continue his path of righteous anger until this is sorted.
      • Insert Larry Ellison lawnmower's razor here.

• Need to find someone anyone who's willing to run it.

Cam Hall Quiz Night

• Thursday/Friday after study break (15th or 16th September) week 7, 7pm

Tech Clubs Quiz Night

• Nothing much really happened.

• Have a tentative new meeting time.

SGM

• Need to decide on a date.

  • during semester break?
  • needs to be sent out 10 days before the SGM
  • saturday 10th of september is the current day of interest

  • [MCW] needs to write the SGM emails and to ask for interest in an OCM position

• New OCM position.

• Adding Door policy to the constitution.

  • Door signup, reapplication, taking off process. As well as not attending busy bees.
    • just to make sure we formalise it so its clear for handover
    • we could fix the Door policy issue by changing the committee regulations
